It was hot todayTeam run

The day started fairly mellow as I met the team and we chatted for a little while abou the nuenaces of the Hawaii Ironman swim. Then we went and swam for about 30 minutes. I wore my Xterra skin suit and it felt great. It is always a good idea to try these suits out as the can chafe in certain areas like the next and under arms. I breathe to the left all the time so I tend to chafe the left side of my neck quite a bit. You have to use lots of lubricant in salt water.

Then it was back to the Condo to put together the Cervelo P4 to hang at our booth with Mark’s pair of 808’s with custom decals. What a sweet looking bike. Then we met the team again to run from the energy lab back into town. That is were the photo above is from. It was blistering hot. I ran fairly quick initially to stay with the main group and then dropped back to also run with others. We run against traffic as that si always safer. However we have to watch for cyclist that run in the same general area as us. At one point a ride was going towards me with her head down. The she looked at the last second and moved over with a big smile. Wait that was Crissie Wellington. She almost ran me over. Later on the day I saw her running and she was working it. She was really moving at a very high cadence. She looks great but its definitely very upright. I also saw Yvonne Van Vlerken. She was not running as hard or fast but looked a lot more relaxed.

Later in the afternoon Andre from Kiwami pick me up to get all the towels and shirts for the team goodie bag. These towels and shirts are very sweet. We have so much stuff for the team we need two cars to get everything over to the breakfast in the morning. I hope the athletes are pleased.

We then closed the booth at five PM and then headed over to the Aloha Reception with all the Ironman brass, sponsors, VIPs and anyone who is anyone in Ironman. This is always fun as now I know some people. I remember rteh first year I went to this. I dod not know a soul. Chris Charmichael, Lance Armstrong's coach, was there. I wonder what he is up to. Lance is supposed to be aiming to race Kona so maybe he is scouting and trying to grew his tri coaching business. More competition for us. Great :-)

Well I am very exhausted but I am not complaining. I am just stating a fact. It’s a good gig, better than sitting at the office at IBM working for the man. Right Matt?
