Let the race start
Let the race startAs always race week is crazy. As much as I try to do all ahead of time. Every time I go somewhere there are tons to do. From my athletes to make sure they are taken care of to my kids, my house etc. That is why I have not been able to post as I do on Mondays.

However I wanted to take a few minutes and make short post. I got some great workouts to prepare and taper. I even went back to Boulder to get a run in 95 degrees and sweat a little. Looks like in Buffalo Springs we will not have 100 degrees as expected but something in the low 90s. In the old days I wanted hot, hot and hot. I did not like it but somehow I did better against the competition. I am not sure about now days. We will see. Also I would like to thank my friends Roger and Chris for visiting. Chris and I ran one hour and that was fun. Roger is a top dog triathlete in Texas and fortunately not doing Buffalo Springs as he is in my AG. He and I rode to trail ridge road. Once we got to the climb ho got “summit fever” and went to the top. I had to turn around early as I was in my taper mode. But before that he showed me who is top dog as he took off in every hill there was. Yep I was slowing him down. As I said; I am glad he is not racing Buffalo Springs. Oh yes before the ride he mentions the proverbial words. “Luis I am so out of shape”. The day he says he feel great is the day I will do well against him.

My lack of sleep caught to me on Tuesday and I had to take an unscheduled day off. I really felt like crap. But after 10 hours of sleep I bounced back. Now I just have to get to bed. I want to watch that world cup game tomorrow between the US and Ghana. I am a soccer fan you know. I think the US is hosed. They need to win and Italy needs to beat the Czech Republic. I predict some ties and the US goes home. The US needs to play stronger competition to prepare for the world cup. They need to play Spain, Argentina or France instead of Venezuela, Latvia, Morocco and Jamaica. It would be like me going to local sprint races to prepare for Kona. That would be a shocker.

Anyways, wish me luck. I have a bunch of stuff to write about but not enough hours in the day or night in my case.
